Names stay in the browser

NameMy is a static site. When you generate or copy a name, that happens on your device. NameMy does not have user accounts, and it does not keep a database of the names you click.

Fonts

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those files from Google, so Google receives the usual connection data for that request, such as your IP address.

Advertising

Pages include Google's AdSense script so the site can be tied to an AdSense account. There are no ad slots on the pages right now, so you should not see a Google ad. The script can still contact Google when a page loads.

If ad slots are added later, Google may use cookies and similar tech to serve and measure ads, including on other sites. Google describes that here: How Google uses data in advertising.

What NameMy does not do

  • NameMy does not sell personal information. It does not have a customer list to sell.
  • The site is not directed at children.
  • Copying a name uses your device's clipboard. NameMy does not receive that copy.
